President’s Choice Launches Plant-Based Products Across Canada

President’s Choice – a private label owned by Canadian grocer, Loblaws – recently announced a new line of vegan products across the country.

Loblaws launched the product line back in May and will roll out the rest from now until the middle of June.

The plant-based line includes products like an Original Cheesecake-Style Dessert made of lima beans, oats, and coconut oil (with a graham cracker crust), a Beefless Undeniable Burger made with pea protein, Mochi, and an Original Cashew Dip that comes in Cucumber Dill and Roasted Red Pepper.

In June, Loblaws will release additional products like Chickenless Breasts, Chickenless Breaded Cutlets, and Chickenless Breaded Strips all made of soy, pea, and brown rice proteins. As well, they will launch a Mayo-Style Spread.

These products will be available across Canada wherever President Choice products are sold, including Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore, Shoppers Drug Mart, Zehrs, Fortinos, and No Frills.

Canadian’s have warmed up to vegan food over the last few years. In fact, 53% of Canadians eat plant-based meat, with 18% claiming they consume it up to a few times a week; this is according to data from Mintel.

Loblaws is the latest Canadian grocery retailer to jump into the plant-based craze. Earlier this year, Sobeys was the first grocery retailer in Canada to carry Beyond Meat burgers.

So if you’re Canadian and looking to have a plant-based meal, you know which grocery stores shop at.
